- If you are a healthy adult, you may not spend much time thinking about immunizations.
-
Getting the recommended adult immunizations, however, is one of the most effective ways to help you stay healthy.
-
In fact, vaccines help prevent diseases that affect millions of adults every year - diseases that can lead to hospitalization or even death.
- Recommended vaccines:
| Measles, Mumps, Rubella |
Hepatitis A |
Meningococcal |
| Pneumococcal (Pneumonia) |
Hepatitis B |
Tetanus-Diphtheria |
| Varicella (Chickenpox) |
Influenza (Flu) |
Fulton County Health Dept. has recently added Adacel (Tdap) for privately paying adults ages 65 and above to their recommended adult vaccine schedule. Because of some concern with pertussis containing vaccines and underlying health conditions for adults in this age range, FCHD is requesting that all adults age 65 and over present to FCHD with a note from their personal physician in order for vaccine to be administered. This note should state that Tdap is recommended by physician for person to receive as a one-time injection. If anyone 65 years and older presents to FCHD without a note from physician, this person will be asked to secure this note from his/her physician before returning to the health dept.
