Intervening with Teen Tobacco Users Program (TEG), is a research-based program offered to Youth Tobacco Offenders in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2151.87. This code states that it is unlawful for persons under the age of 18 to use, possess or purchase tobacco products. The TEG program is offered as a positive alternative to juvenile court fines or other penalties. The TEG program consists of an intensive educational session designed to motivate and prepare teen tobacco users to stop using tobacco products. Both spit and smoking tobacco are addressed, as well as marijuana use. Health educators conduct this session on an as needed basis. Teen tobacco users are referred by the Fulton County Juvenile Court system or by Fulton County School systems. This program is available for all Fulton County teenagers.
