School Environment Inspection Program

The Fulton County Health Department conducts comprehensive inspections of all schools in the county on an annual basis. During these inspections, registered sanitarians identify health and safety conditions and sanitation practices within the school environment that may pose a threat to students and staff. Items which are focal points during a typical inspection may include indoor air quality, proper storage and handling of chemical hazards, pest control, playground safety, and general cleanliness. The school cafeteria receives a separate inspection covered under the Fulton County food protection program. By addressing areas of concern, the Health Department can provide a service to the community that helps improve the learning environment for our children.
